Former President Donald Trump called for a new GOP candidate to run for New York’s 3rd Congressional District in November after Democrat Tom Suozzi’s victory on Tuesday.
In a Truth Social post, President Trump called failed GOP candidate Mazi Pilip “foolish” for not endorsing him during her campaign in New York’s special election to replace former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.), who was expelled from Congress last year.
Mr. Suozzi claimed victory on Tuesday night with 53.9 percent of the vote and 93 percent of the votes counted. He will fill Mr. Santos’ vacant seat in the House of Representatives.
