Rittenhouse Trial Begins With Jury Selection

The trial for Kyle Rittenhouse is set to begin with 300 people being called for jury selection. The defense and prosecution will choose jurors in Kenosha Wisconsin Monday.

The selected jurors will hear arguments from both sides and ultimately decide if Rittenhouse is guilty of homicide or if he was acting in self-defense. The teen is on trial for an incident which took place in August 2020, where he shot three people with two dying from their injuries.

Experts say under Wisconsin law, Rittenhouse has a strong self-defense case and prosecutors will have to convince the jury he forfeited that claim after showing up with a weapon. Rittenhouse faces a total of seven charges, including five felonies.
