Trump signs executive order to increase California water supply

On his first day in office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the Commerce and Interior secretaries to reroute more water from Northern California to other parts of the state.

This move aims to address water shortages affecting Central Valley farmers.

"The very day he got sworn in as President, he took action to help us in the Central Valley," said Congressman Vince Fong.
 

I've been working with President Trump and his team for the last few weeks outlining specifics and ways to maximize flows.


The executive order is seen as a continuation of efforts from Trump's first term, during which he signed new biological opinions allowing more federal water to flow through California. The Biden administration later reversed these rules.
