Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had some choice words for National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci during a recent appearance on “Tucker Carlson Today.”
DeSantis appeared on the Fox Nation show on Monday where he talked about his state’s leadership in rejecting federal hysteria pushed by Big Pharma-backed soothsayers such as Dr. Fauci. He said he never lost his ability to use common sense even with massive pressure to conform to unconstitutional and anti-American lockdown mandates.
“If I had more data, I would have had the ability to say, ‘Wait a minute. Why would we need to close a gym for two weeks?” DeSantis asked. “These are younger people going to work out. If you’re healthy, you’re going to end up dealing with the virus better.”
“And so I think that it took me a few weeks, March and into April, to get enough data to say, ‘Okay, we’re not doing Faucism, we’re going to make sure our state’s open,” he continued.
“We’re going to get the kids back in school and we’ll just focus our protection on elderly people, who are the ones at risk…Some of the restrictions we did, I think, were ineffective,” DeSantis added.
As the scamdemic progressed, DeSantis became hip to it being an overhyped scam. This has helped Florida’s economy recover faster than other states, and the case totals have been kept relatively low without mask mandates. He noted that Florida became an appealing travel destination throughout the pandemic for residents of outside states who have had their civil liberties unduly curtailed.
