MUST WATCH: Gov Kathy Hochul says black children in New York don’t know what computers are

New York Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul was slammed after she said on Monday that black kids don’t know what the word ‘computer’ means.

While speaking in California at the Milken Institute Global Conference Monday about her $400 million Empire AI initiative that aims to create a diverse workforce in tech sectors, Hochul said, “Right now we have, you know, young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is.”

Hochul continued, “They don’t know, they don’t know these things. And I want the world opened up to all of them.”

The Democrat governor was promptly berated across New York City and social media, even by members of her party.

Bronx Democrat Assemblyman John Zaccaro said in a statement, “Our children, far from being underestimated, are the epitome of brilliance, resilience, and untapped potential.”

He added, “They are not only capable but deserving of every opportunity that their counterparts are offered. It’s disheartening to witness such a portrayal that undermines their abilities and aspirations.”
